Tornadoes match last season's win total

Thursday, December 20, 2007

Jordan Carlson poured in a game-high 20 points and yanked nine rebounds, and Storm Lake's boys basketball team sprinted out of the gates with a 23-14 first-quarter edge Tuesday at Tornado Fieldhouse in a 73-61 dismissal of Cherokee.

The win meant Storm Lake (4-3, 3-2 Lakes) has already matched last season's win total of four games and exceeded the league victory mark by one game.

The Tornadoes finished 4-18 overall, 2-14 in the Lakes last year.

Jesse Munger (14 points) and Will Hansen (10) joined Carlson in double figures Tuesday.

Munger ripped seven rebounds, three more than Mike Adams.

Taylor Anderson contributed seven points, six assists, three steals and two blocks to the Tornado attack.

Tyler Jones paced Cherokee with 14.

The Tornadoes head to Sioux City West Friday.
