Wildcats stop Aurelia girls

Chelsea Clayton charted 22 points, 12 rebounds and five steals to push Schaller-Crestland past Aurelia's girls basketball team 47-22 Tuesday.

The Bulldogs shot an icy 14 percent (6-of-44) from the floor; the Wildcats sniped with 33 percent vision (20-for-60).

"This was a good win for our girls. I'm proud of their effort throughout the whole game," Wildcats coach Lindsay DeHaan said. "We took a good step forward."

Roxanne Grundmeier also stepped up big for S-C, with 16 points, eight rebounds and four steals.

Leah Kai notched eight points and Meghan Glawe 10 rebounds to pace Aurelia. Kai added two assists and Audrey Winterhof three steals.
