The victory train keeps right on rolling for the Storm Lake St. Mary's junior high boys basketball teams.
Both the seventh and eighth grade Panther squads improved their record to 6-0 Monday with wins over Laurens-Marathon. The eighth graders beat the Chargers 45-32 while the seventh grade team prevailed 54-13.
Bobby Ivey led the eighth grade Panthers with 20 points. Andy Drey added 12, Nathan Lenhart 11 and Nick Smith two.
In the seventh grade contest, Aaron Krier paced St. Mary's with 23 points. Joe Sandhoff added nine, Dillian Smith eight, Lucas Lenhart and Kennedy Drey five apiece, and Chris Rebnord and Arturo Castro chipped in with two each.
"We continue to play good as a team, though our individual scoring doesn't indicate that this time," said Panthers coach Chris Reinert. "Our scoring balance is not as we would like it to be but sometimes there are games that turn out that way. Laurens did a nice job of taking away some of the passes that we wanted to make in the half-court offense.
"We need to do some work offensively so we don't turn the ball over as much as we did last night. Overall, another great team effort out of both teams."
