Last SLHS Kreative Kitchen meal for the semester Friday

The Storm Lake High School Kreative Kitchen will serve their last meal of the semester on Dec. 7.

The Kitchen is under the management of instructor Becky Stille; the cooks are made up of students from the creative foods class. The students prepare and serve the meals.

The meal will be served in the food room at SLHS (Room 18) at 12:10 p.m. Cost for the mea is $5. Please reserve your spot by noon on Wednesday by calling the high school office at 732-8065.

No cancellations after 8 a.m. the day of the meal.

On Friday's menu will be Rosemary pork loin roast, red potatoes with beans, corn muffins, banana layer cake with caramel cream and pecans.

N-F elementary to present Christmas concert Thursday

The Newell-Fonda kindergarten through third graders, under the direction of their music teacher Mrs. Pollard, will present their annual winter program on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Newell building's old gym.

Children will be singing about trees, Santa, reindeer, getting ready for Christmas, as well as many other winter songs.

The third grade class will be performing, "The Littlest Christmas Tree" a musical by Teresa Jennings. All are welcome to attend this evening of entertainment.

Sioux Rapids P.E.O. to give scholarship

Sioux Rapids P.E.O. Chapter GJ announces to area women post-secondary students that application are being accepted for a $300 scholarship to be awarded in February.

To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be from, or living in, the Buena Vista or Clay County area, and be attending a university, college, community college or vocational school. All applications must be completed by Jan. 21.

Sioux Central School to host Financial aid night

A college financial aid presentation will be presented Monday, Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Sioux Central.

If you are requesting financial aid money this will be a presentation that you will not want to miss. The presentation will include such topics as completing the FAFSA, electronic processing, deadlines, overview of the financial aid process, types of financial assistance available, helpful hints and where to go for help.

This session is recommended for seniors and their parents.
