Event includes Christmas selection, a preview of Madrigal Dinner show
The Buena Vista University Concert Choir will perform their Fall Major Works Concert on Sunday, November 18, at 3 p.m. in the Schaller Memorial Chapel on the BVU campus.
The Concert Choir will be performing Morten Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna with orchestra.
The work was previewed by the Los Angeles Master Chorale conducted by Paul Salamunovich in 1997. Lauridsen is the chair of the composition department at the University of Southern California.
The choir will perform several Christmas selections and the spiritual John Saw de Number by Norman Luboff. Soloist for the Choir will be Jasmine Arnold, education major from Marshalltown.
The BVU 2007 Madrigal singers will also preview their Madrigal Dinner performance. Tickets for the December 9 Madrigal Dinner will be available before and after the Major Works Concert performance.
Director for the Buena Vista University Concert Choir is Paula Keeler and accompanist is Deanna Larson. A reception for family and friends will follow the performance in the Siebens Forum. This ACES event is free of charge and open to the public.
