BVU pins down three titles at Dakota Wesleyan

Aaron Cook (149 pounds), Joey Verschoor (157), and Josh Murray (174) all captured individual championships to lead the Buena Vista wrestling team during the Dakota Wesleyan Open on Saturday. ?Both Cook and Verschoor picked up one-point decisions in their respective championship bouts, while Murray, who was the lone champion a week ago for BVU, cruised to a commanding 17-6 victory in his finals match. ?The Beavers also brought home one runner-up (Julian Mancha at 165), to go along with two third-place finishers (Jestin Hulegaard at 133 and Jacob Combs at heavyweight). ?A total of 18 teams and 262 individuals took part in the competition.?Buena Vista returns to the mat on Friday evening when it squares off with Dana College in Blair, Neb., at 6 p.m., before taking part in the UNO Open on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
