Eight alternative rock bands will vie for a $300 cash prize and put on one of the most anticipated concert events of the year in the 3rd annual KBVU 97.5 EDGEdOUT Battle of the Bands on Saturday, Nov. 17 in Storm Lake.
Performing on stage at the Elks Lodge will be:
* Goodbye Vienna from Des Moines
* Here's My Chance from Waukee
* One Flew Over from Storm Lake
* Benedict Affair from Alton
* Saul from Sutherland
* Grinwire from Urbandale
* Indecision Kills from Spencer
* 12oz Empty from Iowa City
EDGEdOUT will begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6. One of the eight bands, Goodbye Vienna, performed at last year's EDGEdOUT. Grinwire performed at EDGEFest '07. All bands will be selling their CD's and signing autographs at the event.
The bands are selected through a vote of listeners for the Buena Vista University radio station. The winnng band at the EDGEdOUT concert gets a chance to join the line-up for the big summer music festival, EDGEfest.
EDGEdOUT sponsors are Al's Liquors, Pronto Market/Domino's Pizza, Malarky's Pub, Rasmussen Ford-Mercury, Puff's, Buena Vista University Admissions Office, Buena Vista University's Student Activities Board and Silk Screen Ink.
Tickets are $5 at the door. Persons must be 18-years-of-age and possess a legal ID to be admitted. Alcohol will be sold to persons 21-years-of age and older who possess a legal ID. Tune in to KBVU-97.5 FM for daily EDGEdOUT promotions and give-aways.
