Elks host kid's costume bash

The Storm Lake children's Halloween Costume Contest returns this year.

"We asked the Elks Club to help us out, and they were very excited to jump right on this," said Marilyn Monson, of the Storm Lake Chamber of Commerce.

The fun begins at 2:30 on Saturday, October 27, following the downtown trick-or-treating, which starts at 2 p.m.

Judging of the costume contest will be held at 3 p.m., and there will be treats and refreshments. Admission is free. For more information, contact the chamber of commerce.

New Year's party benefits Castle

Tickets are going fast for the New Year's Eve Party benefit for Santa's Castle in Storm Lake. King's Pointe will host the event, which includes music by the classic rock band The Rumbles, champage, hor d'houvres and plenty of holiday fun. Tickets are $75, available at the Chamber of Commerce. Demand has been strong, with partiers from four states booking in so far. A very limited number of tickets remain.
