Open house to be held at the Alta store Friday
Casey's has been providing Alta residents and even passersby quality service and products for the past 30 years under only two managers.
Sandy Nicholson served as manager from 1977-95 and Deb Aberson came on board in December of 1995 and has been manager since.
The store will observe this milestone Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. with an open house. Everyone is invited to stop in to help in the celebration; refreshments will be provided.
The store was built by and owned by Dave James in 1977. Dennis Shull purchased the store in 1996. Since 2004, the store has been owned by corporate.
Many changes have occurred at the store over those years - new gas pumps two years ago, a new and improved kitchen and remodeling of the front this year.
The store has employed many Alta people through those years but Judy Otto has been an employee for 20 years.
The employees do a great job of participating in community events and have served as partners in the Partners in Excellence program for five years.
Aside from the typical convenience store items, Casey's makes available DVD rentals, Power Ball purchases and provides an ATM. And don't forget about the pizza, donuts and other breakfast items and variety of sandwiches!
Casey's hours are 5 a.m.-11 p.m. and have a regular coffee group that congregates in the store each day.
Deb is pleased to be associated with the Casey's store and that they are there to be a service for the people.
"We try to have a smile for everyone that comes in the door," she said.
