Thursday, October 4, 2007

Brent Vernon will be in concert at the Alta United Methodist Church, 218 Prospect St., on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 10:45 a.m. He will also perform at the Schaller United Methodist Church, 209 W. 3rd St. in Schaller, the same day at 6:30 p.m.

Vernon, 29, from southern Florida, is a writer, illustrator and performing musician.Since the summer of 1995, Brent has toured in 48 states, Canada, Australia and the Carribbean executing a calender of 210 concerts each year in schools. churches, coffee houses and a myriad of other venues.

Over the last decade he has developed an unusual ability to communicate with people of all ages by keeping his message clear, his methods current, and his presentations polished. His approach is simple, often using only a keyboard to accompany his warm vocal stylings.

Vernon's song, "If You're Not In It" from his latest CD - A Thousand Pictures - was enthusiastically received by Christian radio stations across the nation, topping the charts in several markets.

He is also a master ventriloquist. With the growing popularity of his friend "Sam",? many of Vernon's performances have taken a decidedly kid-friendly turn with terrific response.

Disappointed by the lack of high-end, family friendly media, he was compelled to launch a creative company for the production of wholesome yet highly engaging products and programs. He is now looking forward to seeing his new venture, The Reverie Company, thrive in the marketplace as it promotes harmony in the home.

As this is in development, Vernon and "Sam" tour extensively - sharing with thousands each year.

Both concerts are open to the public. A free-will offering will be received for Brent Vernon's music ministry. For more information, call 200-2304. ?
