It will be a rockin' night at the Alta Community Center Sept. 29 as the Alta Firefighters host the "Rock the Roof Road Show", held in conjunction with the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door. For $10, you will have the chance to hear four of the area's best rock and roll bands.
On tap will be "The Fabulous Thunderbolts," "The Fortes," "The Riata Band" and "Saving Reality."
Food will be available at an additional cost.
Earlier in the day will be a motorcycle fun run, taking place from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Anyone with a motorcycle may participate in the event which will include seven stops. There is a registration fee of $15 which will include food and a ticket for the evening's concert. Door prizes will be given out at the motorcycle run.
This special event is a fundraiser for the Alta Fire Department; all proceeds will be used to help fund a new fire house.
Another exciting part of the night will be the drawing for the 2007 Harley Sportster Custom 1200 at 9 p.m.; need not be present to win. The Harley has not been driven and the key for the Sportster can be obtained at the dealer by the winner.
Raffle tickets for the Harley are still available at $10 each and can be purchased from any firefighter, Tom at Alta City Hall (200-2105) or in Storm Lake at Rust Western Shed, Binning Outdoors, North Lake Truck Repair or Arnold Motor Supply.
