Despite losing the majority of last year's league title-winning volleyball team to graduation, Alta is, for the most part, picking up where it left off.
The Cyclones won the Twin River Valley Tournament Saturday, beating Southeast Webster-Grand in Round 1 and the host Thunder in the championship.
That left them with an overall match record of 11-2.
"We played solid volleyball today. We served exceptionally well and got our offense going early on," Cyclones coach Jeannie Henningsen said. "We need to continue to work on the little things that make teams better in the middle and late parts of the season."
Alta beat Southeast Webster 2-0 (21-6, 21-16) and TRV 3-0 (25-8, 25-11, 25-16).
