Rebel netters fall to stiff competition at Cherokee

Sioux Central went 0-4 here at a volleyball tournament Saturday, dropping all four matches in two straight games.

It was the fifth loss in a row for the Rebels (7-10), who fell to MOC-Floyd Valley, Sioux City North, Hinton and River Valley, in that order.

Against MOC-Floyd Valley, Sioux Central's Brooke Scharn had seven kills, a team best.

Teammate Grace Rehnstrom brought up six digs, while Stephanie Rushton was 12 of 13 serving with five aces, and Scharn put up three blocks.

In the Sioux City North match, Scharn floored five kills and Brittny Rebhuhn had two assists. Scharn had three blocks, Rushton had two aces and Rebhuhn converted all seven of her serves.

Against Hinton, Rushton led the Rebels in kills, posting three. Rehnstrom had five assists and nine digs to go along with an 8 of 8 serving performance. Scharn and Rebhuhn added five and four digs, respectively.

Rehnstrom led the Rebels against River Valley with four kills, while Rebhuhn and Rehnstrom both had five assists. Rebhuhn finished with a team-best seven digs, one more than Scharn and Rehnstrom.

Rebhuhn and Scharn both added a pair of service aces.
