Roger Brooks, a founding member of the award-winning Destination Development Team, has worked in tourism and economic development for more than 20 years, and has become one of the most recognized experts in the field of tourism, consumer trends, marketing and prodect development in the country. The Storm Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau has obtained the services of Brooks and he will be in Storm Lake from Oct. 9- 11.
Brooks' wealth of experience includes assisting at the ground floor level of development resorts including Whistler Resort, British Columbia; Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Copper Mountain Resort, Colo.
Over the past ten years, he has worked with nearly 400 communities, assisting them with business and product development plans, marketing programs, market assessments and guidance to increase their tourism, economic development and retail potential. Brooks is nationally recognized for his ability to get communities excited, energizing them to success.
With his expertise in marketing, advertising and public relations Brooks has developed a series of highly entertaining and educational marketing workshops, which are extremely popular. His commitment to his clients doesn't end with the final presentation - he is motivated by the desire to see them succeed and enjoys following up with them long afterwards to answer any questions or offer additional assistance, chamber officials said.
There will be workshops on Oct. 10 that will be open to chamber members. They are: 8- 10 a.m. - Seven Immutable Rules of Successful Tourism, 10:15 a.m.- 12 p.m. - Seven Immutable Rules of Successful Dowtown/ Retail. 1 - 3:15 p.m. - The Art of Differentiation/ Branding.
