King's Pointe to adjust hours as school starts

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

With the start of the school year for many area schools on August 20, King's Pointe Water Park will adjust hours of operatioin. Beginning on Monday, August 20, the water park will be open 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

"Unfortunately, the end of summer is approaching. With the start of the school year and all the related activities, we will adjust the hours to more closely match when the majority of our customers can use the park," commented Chris Wroge, General Manager for King's Pointe Resort.

According to Nick Edwards, Water Park Manager, "While the outdoor water park will be closed on weekdays beginning Tuesday September 4, we want to be open the first few weekends in September. This will of course be dependent upon some good early fall weather."

The water park is also in need of additional lifeguards and attendants to man both the indoor and outdoor water parks when both are open. Lifeguards need to be Red Cross certified, but attendants do not. Anyone with interest in these positions should contact Chris Wroge at King's Pointe at 213-5707.

Through Sunday Aug. 4, the water park had welcomed 36,425 guests since June 22.
