Never Back Off Promotions has announced the lineup of bands for "Breeze Through The Trees," the annual Pre-Sturgis fundraiser rally, to be held August 2nd, 3rd and 4th in Okoboji.
Last year's was a benefit for Cody Gilmore, motocross champion, diagnosed with cancer. This year's proceeds are earmarked to assist children in Iowa with illnesses who are not covered by insurance.
The event is held in the memory of Lyle Donkersloot, the former own of the local Indian Motorcycles franchise in the Lakes area, who was killed in a road accident in July of 2005.
Bands for this year's show include the venerable "Black Oak Arkansas," southern rockers with hits including "Jim Dandy."
Joining them will be "Nite Owl," a popular blues band out of St. Louis that was one of Lyle's favorites, the Johnnie Bolin Band, which keeps alive the memory of Tommy Bolin, the Iowa born guitar genius who played with groups like Deep Purple and The James Gang.
Local favorite, "The Burning" rounds out the lineup with driving rock.
Wristbands are $20 allows access to the shows in the Green Space throughout, along with no Cover charge and specials at eating and drinking establishments in the lakes area. The schedule includes:
