Alta needed just eight combined innings to take care of its softball business Monday and Tuesday.
The Cyclones blanked Aurelia 11-0 Monday in five innings on the road, then played host to Pocahontas Area Tuesday and came away with a 15-3 win over three frames.
That left the Cyclones with a final league record of 9-3 and an overall mark of 16-11
Jessy Bibler - the winning pitcher - and Lesa Turnquist held Aurelia to one hit apiece, with Bibler throwing the first three innings and Turnquist closing out the final two.
"The bats were really good tonight with 11 hits in five innings," said Cyclones skipper Dave Turnquist. "I hope we can keep hitting well as playoffs start this weekend."
Haley Payne went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs, and Geneva Heschke and Hillary Glienke both added two hits.
Heschke had two runs and an RBI; Glienke had a run and an RBI.
Bibler also nabbed the win in the Poky contest.
"The girls are hitting line drives and working hard as the regular season ends," said Turnquist. "We will need to keep playing at a high level as districts start."
Kelsie Peterson, Glienke and Chesea Brugman all went 3-for-3 for the Cyclones, while Heschke was 2-for-3 with a homer, two runs and two RBIs.
Peterson and Glienke also homered and scored two runs apiece. Glienke had four RBIs while Peterson had one.
Brugman finished with two runs and three RBIs in addition to her three hits.
