Over 65 new street banners have been ordered and will hopefully be up by the 4th of July. The new logo, "Jump Right In!" theme will be carried up and down the main streets of the city. New brackets will also be installed by the Storm Lake City crew. Be sure to wave as you drive by them to show your appreciation of all their hard work.
Over the past year, the Chamber of Commerce's Marilyn Monson has been looking for funding for this project through donations and grants. The following need to be recognized for their generous support in making this project a reality. Midwest Wireless: $,1000; Wal-Mart: $1,000; Storm Lake Chamber Convention and Visitor Bureau: $1,000; City of Storm Lake: $4,000 and Buena Vista County Endowment: $4,000.
A special thank also goes to Jay Butterfield of Silk Screen for perfecting the banner design and making special accommodations for the project's success. "The streets will be ready to welcome the community's new visitors and also be enjoyed by all residents," Monson said.
