Laurens-Marathon's softball team improved to 4-1 after beating 4A Mason City 2-1 here Saturday to win the Humboldt Tourney.
The Chargers beat NK 4-3 and BCLUW 4-3 before the Mason City contest.
In the first game L-M's Bryn Johnson struck out seven batters and homered in the fifth inning.
In the BCLUW contest, she struck out five and hit a triple, while Kacie Woodley and Emily Lampe both doubled.
Johnson fanned seven batters in the championship game against MC, and limited them to six hits.
On Monday L-M improved to 5-1 with a 12-0 blanking of Rockwell City Lytton-So Cal.
Johnson homered, struck out six batters and allowed just two hits. Megan Hofmaster was 2-for-3 with three stolen bases.
Meanwhile, the Laurens-Marathon baseball team beat Rockwell City Lytton-So Cal 11-3 Monday night.
Charger pitcher Adam Woodin got the win and Mason Reed relieved him in the seventh.
