The Buena Vista University track and field teams completed the second day of competition at the Iowa Conference meet on Saturday. The men's team finished in fifth place out of nine with 56.83 points and the women finished in sixth place out of nine with 55 points. Wartburg College won both team races with the men scoring 213.83 points and the women racking up a total of 267 points.
KeAnna Martin championed both sprint events with wins in the 100 meter dash (12.31) and the 200 meter dash (24.99). Natalie Miller finished in sixth place in the 400 meter dash (59.35).
Natalie Olorundami placed second in the100 meter hurdles (15.19). Missy Reinhart took home fourth place in the 400 meter hurdles (65.34) and Olorundami placed sixth in the same event (66.45).
In relay action, the women's 4x400 meter relay was conference champion in a season-best time of 3:59.99. The 4x100 meter relay team placed third in 49.29.
In the men's competition, Eric Bertelsen placed second in the 200 meter dash finals (21.79) and third in the 100 meter dash (11.11). Chris Rowedder was right behind in fourth (11.16).
The 110 meter hurdles placed in the same position that they qualified yesterday with Shawn Olorundami taking fourth place (15.44) and Tanner Russ taking fifth (15.49).
Also tacking on a few points was A.J. Dahm's four-way tie for fourth place in the high jump (1.88 m) and Chris Kemmerer's three-way tie for eighth in the same event (1.88 m).
The Augustana Last Chance meet will be held May 18 at Rock Island, Illinois, and the NCAA Division III National meet will be held May 24-26.
