Huseman, Holton lead Alta golf teams to victory over Clay Central-Everly

Alta's girls golf team beat Clay Central-Everly 214-223 in a dual here Thursday.

Amy Huseman of Alta was the medalist with a round of 46 and CC-E's Madison Cronk was runner-up with a 50.

After Huseman, Ali Ortiz shot a 53 for Alta, Kolbie Boom a 55, Lindsey Strock a 60, Alli Glienke a 63 and Alyssa Engelke a 63.

The Cyclones boys team also won, beating CC-E by three strokes, 161-164.

Seth Thomas of CC-E was medalist with a 38 and Alta's Adam Holton was runner-up with a 38.

Also golfing for Alta were Junior Ortiz (39), Mike Koth (40), Tim Gregg (44), Brandon Iehl (44) and Derek Movall (51).

In other prep links action Thursday, Laurens-Marathon's girls team beat Ruthven Ayrshire 218-246 on the road.

The Chargers had the medalist and runner-up both: Kylie Woodley with a 47 and Laci Hall with a 55.

Also golfing for L-M were Crystal Abbas (59), Emily Lampe (57), Christi Johnson (78) and K. Seniya (82).
