The Buena Vista County Board of Supervisors approved a three and a half percent rate increase for Spectra residential facility. BV Case Manager Tami Millis-Thomas presented the letter from Spectra asking for a rate increase to the board.
"Dawn (Metzler) has reviewed this and feels that it is appropriate to raise the rate between 2-3 percent," Mills-Thomas said.
The increase will help with some of the rising costs for care and supplies. According to the letter from Sue Morrow of Spectra, all efforts of being able to control prices have been taken over the past few years.
With budget concerns, the board approved to give a 3.5 percent increase.
Ivan Droessler of Kuehl and Payer presented the Engineers report for reclassification of joint drainage district 19-26.
According to Droesslor the last major classification happened in the 1900s.
"We have the tools to be more accurate and have a better understanding of the drainage district," Droessler said.
