Marcella died Tuesday, March 27, , at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee.
Funeral services for Marcella E. Banister, 87, Aurelia, were Friday, March 30, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Aurelia with Pastor Bruce Rapp officiating. Burial is in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Aurelia. Visitation was Thursday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., with the family will be present from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
Marcella Evelyn Hanno was born December 18, 1919 in Fulda, Minn., the daughter of Frank and Anna (Techau) Hanno. She attended school in Fulda. Marcella worked as a waitress at the Chief Café in Cherokee for five years, and then at a Herman Ehlers Locker in Cherokee. On December 30, 1950, Marcella married Leslie Banister in Cherokee She enjoyed cooking and baking and providing food for Circle lunches at the Congregational Church.
Preceding Marcella in death were her parents, two sisters; Dorothy and her husband Roy Reed and Viola and her husband Paul Hatch, and one brother, Duane Hanno.
Survivors include her husband: Les Banister, Aurelia; son: Bruce and his wife Debbie Banister, Independence, Mo.; grandson; Scott and his wife Cyan Banister and their daughter Devin, Half Moon Bay, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Marjean Hanno, Spencer and other relatives and friends.

Julia McKeever, 96, Albert City, and formerly of the Linn Grove and Sioux Rapids, areas, died Tuesday, March 27, at Pleasant View Home in Albert City.
Funeral services for Mrs. McKeever will be held on Saturday, March 31, at 10:30 a.m. at the Riverside Presbyterian Church in Linn Grove, with Reverend Russell Westbrook officiating. Burial will follow at Barnes Township Cemetery at Linn Grove. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.

Julia Thressa Rosdail was born March 2, 1911, in Langford, South Dakota. She was raised and educated in the Langford area and also Rembrandt and Norway, Iowa schools. She was a descendant of the Sloopers, the first group of Norwegian immigrants to travel to America aboard the sloop "Restoration" in 1825.
Julia was united in marriage to Virgil "Jack" McKeever on April 2, 1932, in Jackson, Minnesota. The couple farmed northeast of Linn Grove for 48 years. Both were members of the Riverside Presbyterian Church in Linn Grove. In 1974 they retired to Spencer. In 1990 they moved to Sioux Rapids and in 1992 celebrated 60 years of marriage. The Pleasant View Care Center in Albert City was Julia's home from August of 2000 until her death.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jill Yriarte, Fort Dodge; Jerry (Minnie) McKeever, Sioux Rapids; Jeanette (Dick) Cahalan, Eagle Grove; Jackie (Tom) Ball, Sutherland; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Julia is also survived by her sister-in-law, Ethel Rosdail; niece Ardis Long; and nephews Larry McKeever and Rick Rosdail.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents, Orvie and Dena Rosdail; brothers Harris and Clarence Rosdail; grandson William Jack McKeever; and son-in-law Marty Yriarte.

Phyllis died Wednesday, March 28, at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.
Funeral services for Phyllis Barney, 77, Aurelia will be held Saturday, March 31, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Aurelia with Pastor Bruce Rapp officiating. Graveside services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa. Visitation will be from 2 p.m.- 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m., at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
Phyllis Phynetta Comfort was born December 10, 1929 on a farm northwest of Blencoe, the daughter of Richard and Etta (Boyd) Comfort. She graduated from the Blencoe High School in 1947. She then attended National Business Training School in Sioux City and was employed with Mutual of Omaha Insurance Business for fifteen years in Omaha, Neb. On July 11, 1959 she was united in marriage to Farrell Barney at the Congregational Church in Blencoe. They resided in Omaha where their two daughters, Pamela and Patricia were born. In 1971 they moved to Aurelia. Phyllis was employed in the City Clerks office for nine years. She was an active member in the First Congregational Church in Aurelia, serving on several boards and as a member of the Women's Fellowship and Circles.
Preceding Phylllis in death were her parents, and two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Comfort.
Survivors include her husband: Farrell, Aurelia; two daughters: Pam and her husband Kevin Sliga, Monett, Mo.; Pat and her husband Marlyn Fry, Estherville; two grandchildren: Haleigh and Drew Sligar, two brothers; Merle and his wife Theo Comfort, Omaha; John and his wife, Joyce Comfort, Blencoe, two sisters-in-law: Doris Comfort, Conn.; and Edna Comfort, Onawa; mother-in-law Esther Barney, Onawa; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Chester A. "Chet" Breecher, 66, Storm Lake, died Thursday, March 29, at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Services for Mr. Breecher are pending at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
