Severe weather training set

Monday, April 2, 2007

Severe Weather "Spotter" Training will be offered to the public Tuesday April 3, at the AEA Building in Storm Lake, starting at 7 p.m.

Are you familiar with the warning signs which "Mother Nature" displays prior to severe weather? Do you have a plan ?

During "Severe Weather Week" - (April 2 through April 6) - Buena Vista County Emergency Management will host an informational training session at the AEA building in Storm Lake on Tuesday evening.

KICD meteorologist Mark Bruggom will share information on how certain types of weather conditions can develop into Severe Thunderstorms and tornadoes. Weather forecasters like Mark take a proactive role in tracking severe weather conditions and then broadcasting that information to radio listeners throughout our area. "Information that someday may alert you to seek shelter just before a deadly disaster".

Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Storm Spotters, and Buena Vista County citizens are all welcome to attend this training which may help you to understand and identify some of the weather signs mother nature presents as dangerous storms move across our county.
