Panthers, SLHS drop contests', Alta rolls on

The Storm Lake St. Mary's boys basketball team dropped a 64-43 decision here Friday night to Northwest Conference opponent Sac City.

The Panthers were within six points of the Indians at both the first and second quarter breaks.

Sac City led 39-29 at the end of the third quarter and cruised to the victory.

Jon Foell and Ryan Drey led the Panthers with nine points each while senior forward Devin Landgraf netted eight.

Tyler Lange led Sac City with a game-high 23 points and was supported by teammate Wade McDonough, who also hit double figures with 15 points.

In other area games, the Storm Lake boys had another tough loss, losing 66-60 in double overtime to Spencer.

Alta, the third-ranked team in Class 1A, kept on rolling with a 78-36 win over Schaller-Crestland

Post player Aaron Hansen led the Cyclones with 16 points while Jordan Hinkeldey had 13.
