Vilsack lands utility gig

Monday, February 5, 2007

Former Gov. Tom Vilsack has signed on to advise MidAmerica Energy Holdings Company on renewable energy and environmental issues, the company said Thursday in a statement.

Vilsack, a Democrat who served two terms as governor, left office last month and is pursuing his party's presidential nomination.

"We look forward to drawing upon his expertise as we continue to develop renewable energy sources throughout the United States," said Greg Abel, president of the company.

Vilsack has also signed on as a visiting professor at the Drake University Law School.
