Mackenzie and Eric Bochtler
Tom and Judy Shields of Lexington, Ill. and Stan and Robert Bochtler of Storm Lake are pleased to announce the marriage of Mackenzie Kristin and Eric Jonathan Bochtler. They were married May 27 at the St. John's Episcopal Church in Dubuque. The Rev. Kathleen Milligan performed the ceremony. Roberta Bochtler, mother of the groom, of Storm Lake, was the organist. The reception was held at the Grand River Center overlooking the Mississippi River in Dubuque.
Kim Mashek, friend of the couple, of Peoria, Ill. was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Sarah Blecha, friend of the groom, of Chicago, Ill. Renee Schildgen, friend of the couple and Shawna Shields, sister-in-law of the bride, of Moline, Ill. Alayna Rice, niece of the groom, of Storm Lake was the flower girl.
Bradley Bond, friend of the couple, of Champaign, Ill. was the best man. The groomsmen were Zach Hamilton, friend of the groom, of Naperville, Ill., Kurt Havens, friend of the groom, New York, N.Y., Benjamin Phillips, friend of the groom, Newnan, Ga., and Michael Shields, brother of the bride, of Moline, Ill. Matthew and Michael Brostad, friends of the groom, of Storm Lake, were ushers. Hunter Shields, nephew of the bride, of Moline, Ill., was the ring bearer.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Lexington High School in Lexington, Ill. and a 2005 graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. with a degrees in dietetics and Spanish. She is currently employed as a registered dietician at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.
The groom is a 200 graduate of Storm Lake High School in Storm Lake and a 2004 graduate of Bradley University with a degree in International Business. He is currently employed as an air freight coordinator at CRST Van Expedited in Cedar Rapids.
The couple resides in Coralville.
Libby and Andrew Ortmann
Libby Vaudt and Andrew Ortmann were married on July 1st, 2006, at a 4:30 p.m. ceremony at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Grindberg officiating, and Fr. Matt Hewitt assisting. Parents of the couple are Dennis and Susan Vaudt and Michael and Kathy Ortmann, all of Storm Lake.
The bride, who was escorted down the aisle by her father, wore an ivory taffeta a-line gown. The bodice featured a slight dip in the front with a beaded cuff and a lace-up corset back. The skirt had a chapel-length train, and the ruched pick-ups in the skirt were accented with pearls and crystals matching the bodice cuff.
The bride's matron of honor was Naomi Stensgaard of St. Paul, Minn., and her maid of honor was Jordan Nichols of Des Moines. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Frederickson, Council Bluffs, Abby Stevens, Tiffin; Ashley Dana, Waterloo; and Erin Wagner, Dubuque. Bridesman was David Klippel of Kansas City, Kan. The bride's attendants, all friends of the bride and groom, wore two-piece yellow chiffon gowns. Flower girl Shannon Schultz wore an ivory a-line gown with yellow embroidery accents and a satin bow at the waist.The groom's best men were Sam Ortmann and Ben Ortmann, of Storm Lake and Ames. Groomsmen were Scott Brown, North Liberty, Adam Fitzpatrick of Madison, Wisc., Kevin Sporrer, Wall Lake, Dan Vaudt of Denver, Colo., and Tom Menke, Iowa City. Serving as ushers were Cory Vaudt and Bridget DeVos Vaudt of Ankeny, brother and sister-in-law of the bride; Bryce Tingwald of Ames, cousin of the bride; and Dallas Cashman, Maxwell, friend of the groom. The men all wore black tuxedos with a yellow vest and black tie, or black vest and yellow tie.
The bride's personal attendants were Kristin Kappenman of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kathryn Hale of Coralville, friends of the bride.
The reception was held at the Buena Vista University Grand Ballroom.
Andy graduated from Buena Vista University, and is a billings analyst with MCI/Verizon in Cedar Rapids. Libby attended the University of Northern Iowa, and is the service manager at the LoneStar Steakhouse in Coralville. The couple resides in Coralville, and will take their honeymoon to the Caribbean in February.
