Solon rolled up more than 400 yards on offense as it defeated Prairie City Monroe 42-12 Monday and Central Lyon/George-Little Rock beat Jefferson-Scranton-Paton-Churdan 27-7 to set up Saturday's Class 2A state high school football championship.
Solon was led by James Morris and Reece Jedlicka, who both rushed for touchdowns in the first quarter to give Solon a 14-0 lead.
Jedlicka rushed for two more scores in the second half to help Solon put the game out of reach.
Kyle Cane returned fumble 81-yards for PC-M in the second quarter to make it 14-6. The Mustangs scored again just before half to cut the deficit to 21-12 at the break.
In the other semifinal game, Jarren Wiersma scored two touchdowns to send Central Lyon/George-Little Rock to the title game against Solon.
Wiersma's first score came on a fumble recovery in the end zone late in the first quarter after teammate Jordan Gacke fumbled as he crossed the goal line.
Wiersma's second score came on the opening play of the second quarter to make it 14-0.
The Rams got on the board late in the first half on a 73-yard touchdown pass from Brian Killeen to Patrick Minnehan.
CLGLR's Nate DeJong and Mitch Lupkes both added rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
Central Lyon and Solon will meet in the 2A championship at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
