Halloween at the Witter

The Witter Gallery will hold its annual Halloween Bash for children in grades 1-5 on Saturday, October 28, 3:30-5 p.m. at the Gallery in the Storm Lake Library building. Wear your Halloween costume and join the fun with games, crafts and refreshments. Call 732-3400 for more information.

Trick-or-Treat at FHC

Faith, Hope & Charity facility in Storm Lake invites children to trick-or-treat on Halloween night, October 31, 6-8 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Lori Line in concert

Concert Pianist sensation Lori Line returns to the area with a new holiday show, "Unto Us a Child is Born - The Traditions of Christmas," November 30, 7:30 p.m. at the Clay County Regional Events Center in Spencer. Tickets are $41.50-48.50 and $33.50 for kids. Call 712-580-3000.

Walkers hit the schools

As colder weather arrives, two Storm Lake schools are open for walkers. The Middle School is available 6:30-7:15 a.m. and 4-6:30 p.m., and the High School is open 4-5 p.m. (enter at the north side loading dock doors.) Walking is open on all school days.

Songs of '39 are back

The Fort Dodge Choral Society will present "Remember the Past: Music of 1939," on Sunday, October 29, 3 p.m. at Phillips Middle School. Songs from "Wizard of Oz" to "Gone With the Wind" will be featured, plus many romantic dance songs. Tickets are $9 for adults, $8 for seniors and $4 for students at the door. Bruce Perry from Sac City will conduct, and Storm Lake vocalist Roberta Bochtler will be among the performers.
