Western Iowa cattlemen are offering their local Boy Scout Troops a chance to raise additional funds by helping with a beef promotion. The Mid-America Boy Scout Council will be working with the beef industry and Advance Brands, maker of Fast Fixin' fully cooked beef products.
Local Boy Scouts will distribute $1-off coupons for Fast Fixin' products during their annual October popcorn sales. Advance Brands, located in Orange City, has given the Mid-America Boy Scout Council one million coupons and will donate .25 cents back to the Boy Scouts for every coupon redeemed.
The Buena Vista County Cattlemen through their beef checkoff are assisting in the promotion by funding in-store sampling of the new Fast Fixin' On-the-Go Cheeseburgers. Fareway and HyVee stores in the Buena Vista County area are supporting the project by building displays that include posters, in-case signs and jumbo cheeseburger balloons.
The products are quick lunch or dinner options for parents, and can be made in the microwave in minutes. Included are meatballs, jumbo beef burgers, chicken fried steak, steak fingers, sirloin Philly beef steak and more. For information on where your local Boy Scouts will be selling popcorn and distributing the special Fast Fixin' coupons, call the Mid-America Council at 402-431-9272.
