The third annual Artisans Road Trip" will be held this weekend, October 14 and 15, from Storm Lake through the Iowa Great Lakes.
The Artisans Road Trip offers travelers a unique opportunity to discover the NW Iowa region, artisans and their studios to shop for original works of art.
The free, self-guided, open studio tour is planned for mid-fall when the textures and color of Iowa's landscapes are ever changing.
"It's a weekend adventure hosted in rural communities by hospitable and friendly people," explains organization president, Beth Cathcart. "It's about access and exploring places you may have never seen before."
Artisans Road Trip members welcome the public to travel the area's scenic back roads and byways to discover 52 unique studios in 11 northwest Iowa counties.
"You are invited to travel at your own pace and to discover
unique studios," explains organizer and jewelry designer Diane King. "Meet the artists and learn as we share insights into the creative processes of making original art."
