Summit Church to host comedian; tickets on sale

Thursday, September 28, 2006

"Don't want to be yelled at by a preacher? Why not try being yelled at by a funny comedian," says Chad Johnson, pastor of student ministries at Summit Church in Alta. "We're inviting the public to enjoy the nationally known Thor Ramsey, at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8. This is a guaranteed laugh event - so you'll want to invite all your friends."

Ramsey will appear along with the Black V Improv comedy team from Northwestern College, Orange City. Tickets are $5 for groups of 10 or more, $7 for individuals, and $8 at the door. Seating will open at 6 p.m. and laughter begins at 7 p.m.

"Ramsey's smart, sometimes loud and often opiniated brand of comedy has made him an audience favorite nationwide," says Johnson. "He started here in Iowa and moved to California when he appeared in major comedy clubs around the nation. He's starred with Drew Carey, and appeared on A&E "Evening at the Improv", Pay-Per-View's "Now That's Comedy", PBS "Comedy Shop", and hosts "Bananas" on PAX TV. He keeps it clean, but he keeps it really funny, too."

Tickets are available from Albert City Evangelical Free Church, Bethel Baptist Church in Newell, Oakdale Evangelical Free Church, rural Meriden, Salt & Light Books in Storm Lake, and Summit Church in Alta.

Summit Evangelical Free Church offers heart-felt contemporary worship, practical Bible teaching, dynamic youth ministry, caring community, cross-cultural outreach including sermon translation in Spanish and Sudanese, and opportunities for all ages.
