The Alta High volleyball team won a pair of games here Saturday, winning the Twin River Valley Tournament and remaining undefeated at 6-0.
According to Alta coach Jeannie Henningsen, the Cyclones played well offensively in both matches Saturday.
Alta opened with a 25-14, 25-17 and 25-19 win over C-W-L Corwith.
Senior outside hitter Jahde Hammer and Kelsie Peterson led the Cyclones offensively with nine kills each. Dee Hinkeldey added seven kills and four blocks.
Megan Suhr finished with three blocks. At the service line, Peterson had four aces, while Suhr was 9 for 9, Hammer 8 for 9 and Brooke Schroeder 18 for 18. Jessy Bibler was 10 for 11.
Alta's Amy Huseman led the way in the back row with 11 digs.
"We had a great game offensively with C-W-L," Henningsen said. "Amy got the ball to our setters and our hitters put it away. We also served very well, which also got our offense going."
In game two, the Cyclones took care of Twin River Valley in four games, 25-10, 25-17, 19-25 and 25-19.
Hammer led once again at the net with 13 kills, with Hinkeldey adding nine. Peterson finished with six kills and Jessy Bibler five.
"We played well offensively again in this match," Henningsen said. "We beat a very good Twin River Valley team and we did it with our offense."
Hammer was 22 of 26 in attacking while Hinkeldey was 16 of 22. Peterson made good on 14 of 16 attacks.
Hammer and Huseman each added added eight digs, with Bibler adding six.
At the service line, Hammer was 16 of 16 and Schroeder 21 of 21. Brianna Aube was 16 of 17, and and Suhr 10 of 11.
"We had great net play and our back row was solid all day," Henningsen added. Alta played host to Storm Lake-St. Mary's Monday night but results were not available at press time.
