Iowa Office Supply, Inc. has purchased the former Wal-Mart building on N. Lake Avenue in Storm Lake. IOS operations will be moving into the building as well as keeping their secondary goal of offering the rest of the space as premium retail and professional office space.
Gary Lalone of the Storm Lake Area Development Corporation described the move from the downtown area to the northern edge, as an exciting vote of confidence on the part of the company. "The building has been empty for almost four years. We see it as a natural response to the Awaysis project and other community building ventures."
Recently, there had been some speculation in the area that Iowa Office Supply, Inc. may be leaving the community because of a warehouse closure, a relocation of their print shop, and some changes in management.
Linda Fickbohm, President of IOS was quick to address these fears: "I think the real story is that we have an investment into this important community where IOS was founded. We are continuing to develop Storm Lake's commercial growth by investing ourselves in its real estate."
IOS will be sponsoring a morning coffee at 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 6th to officially launch this project and to display conceptual renderings of the new development. The building will offer approximately 65,000 square feet of retail/professional office space of which IOS will require approximately 15,000 square feet.
