SPIRIT LAKE - Justin Koeppe set a new meet record and Storm Lake placed first in seven events to dominate the Great Lakes Invitational boys track and field meet Tuesday at Spirit Lake.
Storm Lake scored 119 points in the meet. Algona was second with 91.
Koeppe broke the meet record with a time of 55.29 seconds in the 400 meter hurdles to place first. Shane Maier placed first in the shot put with a throw of 51 feet, 4 inches.
Rory Fulcher claimed the long jump with a leap of 20-8, while Tim Brink took the 3,200 meter run with a time of 10 minutes, 29.15 seconds. Tyler Youde won the 800 meters in 2:10.75.
The mile medley relay of Mike Miller, Jim Phouangphet, Bob Blanchard and Brink finished first in 3:49.84 and the 4x100 tandem of Kurt Hanna, T.J. Miller, Jeff DeHaan and Fulcher was first in 44.57 seconds.
Placing second were DeHaan in the 110 high hurdles in 15.21 seconds, Koeppe in the 200 meters in 22.96 seconds, Pete Harder in the 800 meters in 2:10.84 and three relays - the 4x800 in 8:45.15, the 4x200 in 1:34.87 and the 4x400 in 3:34.50.
Fulcher was third in the 400 meters in 54.94 seconds, as was Phouangphet in the 200 meters in 23.95 seconds. Phouangphet took fourth in the 100 meters in 11.44 seconds, as did Chuck Stark in the 1,500 meters in 5:00.70.
Maier placed fifth in the discus in 135-0 3/4, as did Scott Ellens in the 110 high hurdles in 16.53 seconds and Miller in the 100 meters in 11.6 seconds.
Mike Keller took sixth in the 400 meters in 57.19 seconds, as did Ryan Brock in the 400 hurdles in 1:01.91.
