The Alta High baseball placed five players on the All-Northwest Conference first team, it was announced this week.
The conference champion Cyclones also landed one player on the second team.
Alta players making the first team were pitcher Brad Payne, infielder Scott Radke, outfielder Anand Hase and utility player Paul Allerdings.
Two other pitchers were named to the first team, including Sioux Central's Kasey Huebner and Matt Spaulding.
First team catchers were Newell-Fonda's Nathan Miller and Sac City's Wade McDonough. Other first team infielders were N-F's Travis Wells, Sioux Central's Chet Hartwell and Sac City's Eric Hansen.
Besides Hase, first-team outfielders were Mark Thompson and Storm Lake-St. Mary's senior Nate Gessner. Sioux Central's Cole Buchholz was named a first-team utility player.
The All-Northwest second team is as follows:
Pitchers B.J. Baskerville of N-F, Ben Muggenberg of Sac City and Colin Hogrefe of Sioux Central. Catchers Justin Ferguson of Sioux Central and Jon Foell of St. Mary's. Infielders Peter Olson of N-F, Kiley Murray of Schaller-Crestland, Bradley Gustafson of Aurelia, Jon Weiland of Alta and Travis Hansen of Sac City.
Second-team outfielders were Newell-Fonda's Tom Johnson and Zach Utech, and Schaller-Crestland's Vince Burhop.Second-team utility players included St. Mary's senior Andy Dahm and Schaller-Crestland senior Brian Bode.
