For one day only, it will be "Ho! Ho! Ho!" instead of "Hoe! Hoe! Hoe!" this summer in northwest Iowa.
The Prairie Pedlar Gardens at rural Odebolt will celebrate Christmas in July in the gardens on Saturday, July 29, with a preview of the holiday season featuring homespun gift ideas from nature.
With the air conditioning on high, the classic chicken coop building has been transformed into a winter wonderland full of Santas, unique trees and charming snowmen guaranteed to melt the heart.
The event is free to the public and will include the sounds of the season and an assortment of old fashioned Christmas cookies.
Guests will be welcome to craft their own clove-studded pomander ball or string an herb-and-spice garland. Santa collectors are also welcome.
The celebration begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m.
The Prairie Pedlar is at 1609 270th Street, north of Odebolt. for more information, call 668-4840.
