Several hundred pelicans made their arrival on Storm Lake this week, to the delight of bird watchers and the concern of some anglers.
Historically, it is not unusual for pelicans to be seen on Storm Lake, although it has been a number of years since they have been so visible.
"We usually get some pelicans each year, but they are often located in the far reaches of Little Storm Lake, and people may not see them at all. This year they are all over on Storm Lake and real visible to people," local conservation officer Chris Lloyd said.
