Jennifer Stork, a junior on the Buena Vista University women's golf team from Carroll, Iowa, has been selected to participate at the NCAA III Women's Golf Championships. Stork was just one of 10 individuals in the nation selected to compete alongside the top 10 teams at the national tournament. The championships will be held on May 9-12 at El Campeon Golf Course at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
This is the second consecutive season that Stork has been selected to the NCAA National Championships. Last season, she finished in 23rd place.
Stork finished the season with a stroke average of 80.00 over the course of 18 rounds of competition.
Her score versus par was 8.11, a key statistic that the selection committee considered when determining the individuals selected for the championship. Stork won four competitions during the 2005-06 season.
The NCAA III Women's Golf Committee chose 10 teams and 10 individuals to participate at the championships. The committee selected 10 teams, two from each of the five regions, for the championships. In addition, 10 individuals not from selected teams also qualified for the championships.
The championships will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently. The tournament consists of 72 holes of play over four days of competition.
