Iowa State University Extension and the Alta School District sponsored the Clover Kids program recently for students in grade kindergarten through third grade. Though separate from the 4-H program, Clover Kids gives kids the opportunity to get a taste of what 4-H may be like.
Clover Kids was held in four sessions over a four-week time period. The theme for the program was "Growing in the Garden" and students explored the butterfly garden and keeping soil alive through various games and activities. The final gathering brought in 4-H members who helped the Clover Kids make projects that can be exhibited at the Buena Vista County Fair.
The program was held in the library which also promoted reading
