Procession of crosses walk to be part of Storm Lake Good Friday celebration

A Community Good Friday Service will be presented by Storm Lake clergy on Friday, April 13, at 3:30 p.m.

The service is Clarence Enzler's "Everyone's Way of the Cross" and will begin at the church corners at Third and Lake Avenue in front of the steps at Lakeside Presbyterian Church.

The service is a procession of each participant carrying a cross of any size to visit the stations of the cross. The stations will be at the church corners. The walking route includes Clough's gazebo, the bank corner, Historical Society gazebo, then back to Clough's gazebo and return to the church corners.

The following clergy and lay people will be participating at various stations: Rev. Duane Queen, pastor, Lakeside Presbyterian Church; Father Eriberto, St. Mary's Catholic Church; Rev. Ray Holmquist, interim pastor, St. Mark Lutheran Church; Rev. Curt Miller, Bishop, Western Iowa Synod of Evangelical Lutheran Church; Rev. Juan and Maria Garcia, Communidad Christiann de; Rev. Ken Meissner, chaplain, B.V. University; Rev. Jim Sanders, executive presbyter, Prospect Hill Presbyter, Presbyterian Church (USA); Gretchen Haahr, lay leader, Episcopal Church; Rev. Tom Hinshaw, First Baptist Church; Rev. Todd Schlitter, associate pastor, United Methodist Church; Mr. Barry Thongvanh, commissioned lay pastor, SE Asian Community Christian Church; Father Doug Klein, St. Mary's Catholic Church; Rev. Mary Pol, associate pastor, Lakeside Presbyterian Church.

This will be the third annual "Way of the Cross" and over 100 people participated in last year's walk. The community is invited to walk or to meet at one of the stations. Please bring a cross of any size.
