Five Newell-Fonda players scored in the 30s here Tuesday, leading the Mustang boys golf team to a win in a Northwest Conference golf meet.
The Mustangs finished with 143 strokes to 154 for Alta. Aurelia was third with 157 strokes. Following were Pomeroy-Palmer, Sac City, Sioux Central, Storm Lake-St. Mary's and Schaller-Crestland.
Newell-Fonda was led by 35's from Austin Vanderhoff and Matt Spaulding. Spencer Baak added a 36 and Lance Bellinghausen a 37. Tom Johnson added a 38 and James Tiedeman a 45.
Jeff Demers led the Cyclones with a 36, followed by Jon Weiland and Adam Holton who both shot 39. Joey Post and Tim Gregg carded 40s and Mark Robb shot 42.
Nick Felten and Ross Fitzgerald led Aurelia with 38's, with Brad Jungers adding a 39. Greg Kolpin fired a 42 for Aurelia, followed by 44's from Jarrett Heubrock and Nathaniel Felten.
Host Sioux Central was led by a 40 from Brady Scheiber and 41's by Eric Weier and Ken Frye. Mark Thompson added a 43, Grant Middendorf a 45 and Tyler Herrig a 47.
Alec Kestel led Storm Lake-St. Mary's with a 43, with Nate Gessner and Tyler Netsch each adding 44s. T.J. Miller added a 47 and Tyrel Drey 49. Senior Andy Dahm added a 51.
For Schaller-Crestland, Aaron Wallace was low scorer with a 48. Vince Burhop added a 49, followed by 50 from Collin Johnson, a 57 from Scott Cressler and a 58 from Mark McDonough.
Pomeroy-Palmer's Brendan George was the meet medalist with a 35.
