The Iowa State University professor whom many have come to think of as the weather wizard of WOI public radio will speak at Buena Vista University on Thursday, April 12.
Elwynn Taylor, who may have the largest public following of any "agricultural meteorologist" ever, will speak at 4 p.m. about "Weather and Climate Changes" in an Academic and Cultural Events Series (ACES) program in Eppley Auditorium in the Estelle Siebens Science Center on the BVU campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Taylor attended Utah State University for his undergraduate work and completed his doctoral studies at Washington University in St. Louis in 1970 and then served as a meteorologist in the United States Army for three years doing weather forecasting for troops worldwide from his base at White Sands, N.M.
After the service, he served as a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Alabama and then joined Iowa State University in 1979.
