Gene Sievers, of Albert City, received the Honorary Iowa FFA Degree during ceremonies held at the 78th Annual Iowa FFA Leadership Conference in Ames on April 10. Gene was an educator and FFA advisor for thirty-four years at high schools in Stanton and Albert City. He retired from teaching in 2005, where he was an agricultural instructor and FFA advisor at Albert City-Truesdale Community School. Gene continues to be involved in educating Iowa's youth about agriculture by participating in FFA activities held throughout the state.
The Honorary Iowa FFA Degree is awarded to educators, farmers, business people, and others who have rendered outstanding service and helped to advance agricultural education within the state of Iowa.
