Latham to conduct town meetings

Thursday, April 5, 2001

Iowa 5th District Congressman Tom Latham has announced he will be holding two Action for Iowa Community Town Meetings on Saturday, April 14.

"The new 107th Congress has already begun to work to save Social Security and Medicare, address the agricultural economy, improve education opportunities and ways of reducing government waste," said Latham. "These community town meetings are a valuable resource for me to be able to listen to the opinions and concerns of Iowans on the issues of importance to them and their families.

At 10:30 a.m. on April 14, Latham will be meeting with Iowans on the second floor boardroom of the Buena Vista County Courthouse, located at 215 East 5th Street in Storm Lake. At 1 p.m., Latham will be meeting in the south room of the Cherokee City Community Building, located at 530 West Bluff. Latham's Community Town Meetings are open to any resident of Iowa's Fifth Congressional District.

Latham noted that anyone needing further information regarding the meetings and those needing special assistance should contact Congressman Latham's Spencer office at 712-262-6480.
