Updates from the Storm Lake Police Department and Buena Vista County Sheriff's Office.

ACCIDENTS

*An accident occurred in the 300 block of East 5th Street at 8:15 a.m. Friday. A 1991 Nissan, driven by Jimmy Phongsavanh, 39, 512 Oates Street, Storm Lake, was eastbound on East 5th Street and was slowing down to stop. A 1995 Chevy, driven by Laura Bravo-Betancourt, 33, 526 Terrence Street, Storm Lake, was eastbound traveling behind the Phongsavanh vehicle and struck it. A 1997 Chevy, driven by Terry Argotsinger, 51, 901 West 5th Street, Storm Lake, was eastbound and struck the Bravo-Betancourt vehicle. No damage was reported to any of the vehicles.

*An accident happened in the 1700 block of Tulip Lane, shortly after 5:15 p.m. Sunday. A 1983 Chevy, owned by Oscar Martinez, 1710 Tulip Lane, Storm Lake, was parked on Tulip Lane when a 1984 Ford, driven by Eldon Anderson, McCord Manor #25, Storm Lake, backed out of a driveway and struck the Martinez vehicle. Damage was estimated at $150 to the Martinez vehicle and $50 to the Anderson vehicle.

VANDALISM

*Laura Terry of Truesdale reported her vehicle had its hood and the driver's side door scratched while parked in the MarketLink parking lot, 1407 Lake Avenue, last Friday. Damage was estimated at $75.
