Storm Lake will now be in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act after passing the third and final reading of an ordinance to modify the number of handicap parking spaces throughout the downtown business district.
The ordinance creates eight new spaces, deletes three spaces and moves one space. The ordinance will create 17 handicap spaces and puts the city in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Mayor Jon Kruse suggests bringing that to the council as a separate item in order to pass the handicap parking ordinance without three additional readings.
