Alta representatives are looking over a city website that has been put together by Anitra Wolf with hopes of it hitting the world wide web very soon.
Members of the school, chamber and city, along with many others, have been viewing the site that is currently available on a CD. Wolf would like input in order to make the site a benefit to all who visit it.
Wolf is a senior at North-western College in Orange City. She was born and raised in Alta and by enrolling in a web design class last semester is hoping to give something back to her hometown by giving Alta it's own website.
Wolf worked on the site with a Front Page Program, which took a lot of technical work out of the designing and allowed Wolf to visually design the site herself.
The site contains information on the city's schools, churches, businesses and windmills. The site also includes information on the chamber and many of the events that occur in the city of Alta, including the BV County Fair and Windfest.
"I took a brochure from the chamber and got a lot of the information from there," Wolf said. "It's been a challenge linking everything together."
Wolf said she didn't realize how much information her Alta project would include and said she's found it to be quite overwhelming at times, but that she's also learned a lot from it.
The site includes pictures from the schools and the businesses, as well as an aerial shot of the town. The site has ten different links within it and a few that will also have links outside of the site. By clicking on each link, individuals will be able to explore the numerous aspects of the small town.
