Margaret Aringdale, 89, of Cherokee, died Friday, March 10, in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Services were held Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cherokee. Burial in the Marathon Cemetery, Marathon. Greenwood Funeral Home Cherokee, was in charge of arrangements.
Margaret was born April 7, 1916 in Mallard, IA to Pete and Ruth A. (White) Smith. She attended school in West Bend, graduating from West Bend High School in 1935.
On June 9, 1941 she married Harold W. Aringdale in Fulton, South Dakota. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Margaret worked as a switchboard operator for many years as she traveled with her husband to many locations as he worked to set up and improve the telephone lines.
Margaret was very devoted to her family, enjoying the activities of her children and grandchildren.
She was a very Christian woman and participated in Bible Study groups. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran church.
Survivors include stepsons; Duane Aringdale, of Marshalltown, and his children, Randy, Rita, Renee; La Verne Aringdale, and his wife,Sharon, of Charles City, and their children, Robert and Sharie; daughters Julia McGee, and her husband Paul of Cherokee, and their children, Troy and Tonya; Janice Schmillen, and her husband, Dick of Cherokee, and their children, Michele, Stacy, Kristy, and Curtis; brother, Peter Smith, and his wife Mavis, of Cushing. Sisters, Mary Johnson and her husband Marvin, of Newell; Louise Olsen and her husband, Otto, of Fort Dodge, Ia; 16 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents, a 6 month old son (Cecil), a brother, (Ben Aringdale) and a sister (CoraBelle Smoot).
Edna I. Peck
Edna I. Peck, Avoca, died March 12 at the age of 98. She was the mother of Darrell Peck, Sioux City, formerly a long time resident of Storm Lake.
Partial list of survivors include: grandchildren Kim (Mark) Rosdail, Storm Lake, Marty (Tammy) Peck, Storm Lake: great grandchildren: Kassi Johnson, Ames; Rachel Johnson, Schaller; Tori Peck, Storm Lake; Madison Peck, Storm Lake.
Funeral services were held on Wed. March 15, 2006 in Avoca.
Harold Klindt of Sioux Rapids, Iowa died Saturday, March 11.
Funeral services for Mr. Klindt will be held Saturday, March 18, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids.
Visitation was held Friday, March 17, at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids.
