A local coalition concerned about youth bicycle safety in Storm Lake has been awarded $1,500 by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
The Bike Safety Task Force met on Monday to plan their education components and timeline. With a goal of reaching some 450 youth with hands-on bicycle safety education, the 13 member task force is planning school and community efforts from May to September. The grant funds will go to support the purchase of equipment, resources and materials for teaching in the Storm Lake community.
